Bag Lady

I didn't just buy shoes, I also got 2 bags. Okay, not as extravagant there but I can sometimes excercise a little moderation. Anyway, 1 bag in white from Vincci and another in red from Dorothy Perkins, a wonderful UK chain, that also has stores (luckily for me) in Malaysia. Now if only they'd open an H&M here, I'd be the happiest person alive.

Bag from Dorothy Perkins. Literally I came, I saw, I loved, I bought.

A Shoe Story

So as I have said, I went a wee bit overboard with the shoe buying this holiday. But I don't think its as bad as that, considering its a rare occurance that I can buy shoes in Perth (let's not quibble over the tan wedges and bronze flats). Anyway, I think its perfectly acceptable that I want to wax lyrical over my brand new shoes. And so I shall.

The day after I got to Malacca, we went to meet up with my mom and her friend so Scott and I could borrow his car. So breakkie was roti canai and after that, we went to the closest shop which is Jusco. and over there, they have a wonderful shop called Vincci. And that's where the purchasing began. I must have tried on maybe 10 pairs of shoes. Easily. Unfortunately, there were some that just didn't fit right. Which is a shame, since they were absolutely gorgeous. But back to the shoes I actually got. And there's quite a few...

There's a black 2 1/2 inch mule with a diamante buckle on the front of them, just a little to the side. Very good for work, and esoecially good since as yet, I've not got a pair of casual black shoes. Another is a pair of browney-bronze, also a mule and also around 2 1/2 inches high. But the front bit has a strip of tulle and over that, a silver chain; so cute and definitely not something I've seen in Perth. Very party, I think.

The 3rd pair comes in the form of yet another pair of mules, this time in white. This one isn't so high, just about 1 1/2 inches, sort of a higher kitten heel. The main feature is a round silver 'buckle'. Its in the main, a practical shoe that I can wear to work and out shopping. The final shoe from Vincci in Jusco is a beigey gold sandal with a tripple strap front and a little knot-and-leaf feature on it. Also not very high, the usualy 2 1/2 inches so again, something I can wear more often.

After we left Jusco we headed to the popular shopping spot, Mahkota Parade. This is joined to another place called Parkson Grand but Parkson is more of a Myer-like department store, whereas Mahkota is like a mall, with many different shops and eateries. And over there, much to my delight, was another Vincci. And its was MUCH bigger and had stuff that wasn't in the other store. Which meant I had to buy more. Naturally.

I tried on heaps more shoes. More than 10 pairs I would think. Yeah, its not often someone can find that many shoes they like in a day, much less try them on. Again, I had the very tough job of eliminating shoes. Trust me, I could have bought more but I felt I should try limit myself. Just a little. So in the end, here's what I got:

Another pair of black shoes. These were in a faux suede with a 3 inch stillettoe heel. They're very retro with round toes and a large bowon the front of it. The stitching is done in light brown/tan so it looks like it highlights the shape of the shoe. I am planning on using this mainly for winter, I can't imagine using closed toe shoes in thes summer. For another party shoe, I've got dark gray satin sandals. The satin has fine pleating that gathers in the middle with a large-ish gray dimante, surrounded by smaller white diamante. Not very high though, also just about 2/12 inches I think. The final pair of Vincci shoes from this trip are also party shoes. Dark brown satin taffeta with a 3 1/2 inch stillettoe heel. The design is simple, just a little jewelled 4-petalled flower with a pearl centre. Ankle straps complete the look.

I didn't buy anymore shoes till Scott and I went to KL. This time, it was in a shop called Nose, pronounced as 'no-zay'. The first is a pair of court shoes with a pointed toe. The shoe is in a brown tweed and has dark brown chiffon on the front of it. The chiffon gathers in the middle of the shoe with a little jewelled butterfly. Again, shoes for winter, though maybe the 3 inch heel may not be seen as entirely practical. But I never said I was. Practical, that is. The final pair of shoes is a sandal in shades of gray. the detail is in the panel on the front, with stripes of different grays, easiest seen to get a description.

So yeah, my entire shoe saga. I so can't wait for next year!

And the body count so far...

Okay, so I'm not talking about real bodies. But this is a list of what I've bought so far. I will not go into details right now, but you can be sure I will:

- 9 pairs of shoes: 2 from Nose & 7 Vincci
- 3 handbags: 1 white from Vincci, 1 red from Dorothy Perkins & 1 white Chanel copy for Mei
- 1 dress from MNG
- 4 pairs of bras
- 1 pair of underwear
- 3 tops from MNG(1 which my mom bought before I even got here so doesn't really count)
- 1 jacket from Miss Selfridge
- 2 pairs of bikinis from Topshop
- 2 pencil skirts: 1 from Topshop & 1 from Isetan
- 1 necklace from the Petaling Street markets

And of course, I've spent on food and travel. But all in all, I don't think I've been overly extravegant. :D I still have a cook book to get for a colleague and some Clinque stuff for Jane but otherwise, I think I'm done with shopping. For now.
