I seem to post a lot of shoots featuring Kate Moss, don't I? Which just goes to show that she didn't really suffer any permanant damage from those drug photos. What I like about this Vogue shoot is the relaxed, almost idyllic atmosphere it has. It looks like a holiday I would love to have. And I am seriously loving that strappy black and white dress with the thick black belt she wears.

Trading Places

I find it interesting when the new stars of today are dubbed as "this generation's so-and-so". I know its meant to be an honour for the new star, but is it always the same for the namesake? Imagine the horror that I'm sure Audrey Hepburn would have felt had she known that of all people, Jennifer Love Hewitt played her in the made-for-TV (which kind of indicates how bad it is) The Audrey Hepburn Story. Although the only reason Hewitt got the part was because she was one of the producers.

So with this in mind, I decided to rummage through the net and find the photos of Lindsay Lohan in Premiere magazine, where she paid hommage to some of our past iconic stars in the roles they are best(?) known for. In doing so, I also came across ones of Jessica Alba in Esquire UK, not portraying the actual actresses themselves, but a few of the famous sexy roles.

Natalie Portman wears cult Givenchy

Natalie Portman graces the cover of the Novem ber 2006 issue of Harper's Bazaar in the iconic black Givenchy gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's. The dress goes on aution at Christie's to raise funds for the poor in India.

Evan Rachel Wood for Beauty Fall 2006

The first time I remember seeing Evan was an episode of CSI where a woman is found murderd in a rubbish dump. It turns out that her daughter had killed her, as she (the daughter, played by Evan) was in love with her own father and had psychosomatically created symptoms of pregnancy. I remember Su and I were watching that episode over at her old place in Inglewood, and even then, we both thought she was beautiful.

Anyway, I think the next thing I saw her in was The Upside of Anger which, I thought was a pretty good movie as well. She's not often in magazines so when I saw this spread of the Beauty Fall 2006 issue of T, New York Times’ Style Magazine I just had to post it.

Clooney Outtakes

I just came across some outtakes and behind-the-scenes photos from the Vanity Fair shoot of George Clooney and Gemma Ward. I think a few could have been in a spread anyway, they still look good i.e the ones in the car and in the lounge.

I also love the ones of George standing on the wooden crate, it just feels so much like what I need to do most of the time. Usually I just stad a little further away or on a step, just so I don't get a crick in my neck. You can stop laughing right about now...

Kate Blanchet in Vogue

I have always maintained that Kate Blanchet was robbed when Gwyneth Paltrow won the Academy Award for Best Actress. There's no way that Gwyneth is the better actress. Not by a long shot and not in anything conceivable. But never mind, Kate did win for her role as Katherine Hepburn in The Aviator and I'm sure there will be more wins in store for her.

What with new movie Babel (with Brad Pitt) coming out soon, its time for all the promotional work to begin. This shoot for Vogue is certainly different. On its own I suppose one could call it a pretty normal shoot. But the clothes...they're something else entirely.

Jolie for Shiseido & St John

As you know, I love Angelina Jolie. She beautiful, compassionate, interesting, independent and doesn't seem to really give a damn what people think about her. The best thing that Brad Pitt could ever have done was to start going out with her. I don't agree that she was the cause of his failed marriage to Jen Aniston and I don't view her as some promiscuous weirdo (due to some rather unconventional doings in the past).

So she used to sleep with knives in her bed and carry around a vial of ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton's blood. So what? I'm sure all of us have done some pretty weird shit back in the day. As for her sleeping around? Well, I'm sure many of us have been guilty of the same thing at some point in our lives. Enjoying sex and having more than 5 sexual partners does not make someone promiscuous.

Angie's come a long way since then. Now a mother and UN ambassador, she seems a lot more grounded and content. A while back, Angelina did an ad for cosmetic and skincare giant Shiseido. Here are 2 photos taken from that commercial:

She has also recently been made the face of St John in the UK. They wanted to re-vamp their image and if these photos are anything to go by, it would seem that their new image is one of sleek sophistication, a look which Angie personifies (when she does dress up and isn't in normal day to day clothes).
